Burgundy 2010 – The Wines

POSTED ON 06/02/2012

In the Côte ChalonnaiseIn the Côte Chalonnaise

The tastings in London in January were based on samples brought over from France by producers and wine merchants. As can happen, not all samples are always in pristine condition.

A few of the wines are already bottled, but most are still cask samples that remain to be bottled. In these cases there may be work still to be carried out. It’s not always possible to determine just how different they’ll taste once in bottle.

Prices are for the most part in bond, so VAT at 20%, or the going rate at the time of delivery, will need to be added, along with excise duty and delivery charges. Delivery should be available for wines already in bottle but could be up to a year or longer for those wines that have yet to be bottled.

Some stockists may have run out of the most in-demand wines. It’s well worth looking at other merchants’ offers in the case of wines you’re really interested in. Also worth looking at cases of six, or sharing a case with a friend or friends.

I have not included alcohol levels because with so many mock-up sample labels it’s not possible.
